Representation for electricity producers

Wind to Market is Spain’s leading company in independent management and representation for electricity producers. We manage the following for our customers:

  • Since 2004, Wind to Market manages one of the largest and technologically and geographically most diverse portfolios of independent producers in the Spanish electricity market, which allows us to provide huge value to our customers through an imbalance cost reduction and improved electricity sale price, participating in system adjustment markets.
  • We offer electricity producers the chance of hedging the electricity sale price risk by closing hedging arrangements.
  • Wind to Market offers the security of a large company, CIMD Group, in which Spain’s leading financial institutions hold investments, and we are therefore required to abide by the highest standards of quality and control in our transactions.
  • We use the best and most secure technological media for your transactions, with redundant systems and communications, providing the highest safeguards in the market.

Market price risk hedging and PPAs

Wind to Market offers its customers the chance of decreasing the market price risk through price hedging and improving the stability and predictability of their revenues.

We offer market price risk hedges such as a fixed price based on load curve, agreed profile or base capacity, or alternatively more complex products such as the chance to benefit from a price floor to hedge against market downturns and benefit from possible future spikes.

Wind to Market’s expertise and customer base allows us to liaise between project promoters and reliable off-takers for the conclusion of PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) for the long-term purchase of energy, thereby for promoters and funders to have certainty as to project revenues.

Adjustment and balancing services

Wind to Market provides its customers with the chance to participate in adjustment and balancing services in order to improve its facility production revenues.

Based on the technical capacities of each facility, our operating shift personal has a 24 hour involvement in the following System Operator services, optimising the facility’s results:

  1. Technical restrictions of the day-ahead market.
  2. Secondary regulation.
  3. Replacement Reserve.
  4. Tertiary regulation.
